Officially A Hoosier Hooker

It is finally official. My drivers license is now with the state of Indiana. This hooker is a Hoosier. This process has been a royal size pain in my tush.

Before October 2020, everyone must have a REAL ID compliant license if they wish to fly or enter a federal building. Some hoohaa about 9/11 and terrorists flying (really does anyone actually believe this would stop them?), so since I was getting a new license in Indiana I had to get that one. Seemed simple enough until I found out what was involved. First, my birth certificate, a certified copy. I had to request that because I didn’t have one I could locate though I know mom had one among the files she kept for each of us. I’ve moved twice so it could be anywhere. I needed my social security card with current name on it. 2 pieces of mail at the current address. One arm, half a leg…okay not that much but almost because I had to also have a certified copy of my marriage license. Huh? We are divorced, why would I keep that on hand? Grrrrr…..

I do not like driving in downtown Cincinnati, OH, it confuses me and stresses me out. I also did not want to pay $8 to park to obtain a $2 item. But others who have ordered their copy via mail are still waiting months out so I wasn’t willing to chance it not arriving in time. For what, you ask? Well, seems the under writers of my auto insurance require me to have a driver’s license in the state my car is titled and I’m living. Time was running out to avoid it being canceled. I was going to have to suck it up. Thankfully I have a brother who works downtown and he was willing to drop by and pick it up for me if I called and had it waiting. Thanks bro!!!!

So, armed with all of these documents, (by the way, women have to get their marriage license, not men, because our names change when we marry which is just discrimination if you ask me, kinda sorta), I went to the BMV and produced everything, got my temporary paper and my new license will be mailed to me. I’m officially a Hoosier now..with a license photo that looks like I just fell out of a taxi cab after a weekend bender. Yikes! But hey,  very few will ever see it and it is likely an award winning bad photo. So there is that!

Today I decided to get back on Facebook. It has been 25 days, and 2 short of my planned return to the social media time waster. My coworkers were mentioning my lack of work related, funny memes and how much they missed those, and just my posts in general. I feel loved. 🙂  It is good to be back but I want to be careful now not to get sucked into the political, gun control, and other posts/arguments discussions. It just is not worth filling up on negativity so the goal is humor, salt and light. Praying daily this is the case.

Still on track to roll my shop open on Sunday. I have so much to get done but enough inventory to roll with it. And I can’t sell what I have if I don’t have it open, correct?

Off to rock an adorable 2yo so he will take his nap. Have a rocking day!
